MSW candidate & clinical social work intern
Practicing under supervision at AMRI Counseling

MEET JAKE
Hi, I'm Jake.
I'm a therapist-in-training based in Salem, completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Kentucky. I offer telehealth therapy for clients based in Wisconsin or Florida through my supervised practice at AMRI Counseling.
I'm especially drawn to overthinkers, caretakers, queer folks, and people who spend a lot of energy meeting everyone else's needs.
My style is warm, curious, and conversational. I take the work seriously, and there's room for humor too. You don't need to have everything figured out before we start.
I'm an MSW candidate and clinical intern, not independently licensed.
FOCUS AREAS
What we can work on
Choose a topic to learn more.
Anxiety & perfectionism
Overthinking, self-criticism, and the feeling that you should always be doing more.
We can explore the expectations you put on yourself and practice more flexible ways to respond to worry and uncertainty.
Burnout & chronic stress
Feeling stretched thin, setting boundaries, and making space for your own needs.
We can look at what's draining you, what support you need, and which changes feel realistic in your day-to-day life.
Identity & relationships
Understanding yourself and your relationships, in a queer-affirming space.
There's room to explore identity, belonging, and relationship patterns without having to explain or justify who you are.
Life transitions
Changes in work, relationships, or direction that leave you unsure of what comes next.
We can make space for the uncertainty and work through what matters to you as you decide how to move forward.
How I work
We'll talk about what's happening in your life, notice patterns, and work toward changes that matter to you. I bring curiosity and practical tools; you bring your experience and goals.
My training includes cognitive behavioral and acceptance-based approaches. I continue developing my skills through coursework, practice, and supervision.
QUESTIONS
A few questions
Are you a licensed therapist?
I'm an MSW candidate and clinical social work intern. I provide therapy through AMRI Counseling under clinical supervision while completing my degree. I am not independently licensed.
What does it cost? Do you take insurance?
Current services are offered through AMRI Counseling. The clinic can confirm rates, insurance eligibility, and any available reduced-fee options before you schedule.
Can we work together where I live?
I offer telehealth therapy for clients based in Wisconsin or Florida only at this time, under my supervised practice with AMRI Counseling. Sessions are online. I am not currently seeing clients in Massachusetts or other states.
What if I don't know where to start?
That's okay. We can start with what has been on your mind and work together to understand what you'd like to change.
How do I make an appointment?
Use AMRI's online scheduler and select Jake Link as the counselor. My availability is primarily evenings and weekends. You can also contact AMRI directly. If you can't find a time that works, email jakelink@amricounseling.com.
